RECAP: It was a very exciting final day in Portugal as Cory Teunissen and Mike Dowdy traded hammers to determine who the best was here in Portugal. Mike Dowdy was coming off an epic win at the Masters and seemed to be on an unstoppable run, but Cory proved he's still got what it takes as he squeaked by with his first win of the season. It will be an epic battle between these two riders all season long, but for right now for the first time ever, Mike Dowdy sits atop the Wakeboard World Series rankings.

Tony Iacconi came away with third place marking he second podium this year after failing to reach the podium in all of 2015. It's safe to say that Tony is definitely a rider to watch for the rest of the season as he seems to be riding better than he ever has before and it wouldn't surprise us to seem him on the podium again. It was also exciting to see up-and-coming Mauritian, Damien Adam, make the first finals appearance of his career beating out some top level wakeboarders for a 6th place finish!

In the pro women's division, Meagan Ethell came away with her 7th straight win behind the boat dating back to 2015 which marks the longest winning streak since Dallas Friday won 14 straight in 2004/2005. Raimi Merritt is also having a fantastic year, making podium for the third time this year and a huge congratulations to Taylor McCullough are making her very first pro career podium in a WWA boat competition! The next time these ladies compete will be in Sparks, NV at Sparks Pro July 1-3 in the first Malibu Evolution Series contest.
