At the beginning of every year the World Wake Association hosts a Pro Card Qualifier event in which riders who do not already have a Pro Card have a chance to earn one. The WWA Pro Card program qualifies riders for the WWA World Rankings, as well as earning them the right to compete at all WWA professional contests for the 2017 season. This year every rider who made it through the first round of competition earned their Pro Card for the year. The rest of competition served as a practice session for riders to get back into competition-mode for the season.
